Sunday 27 October – Coastal perfection

Current location: Ettalong Beach
11.11am, Running with Jess. We are still trying to run every Saturday but today it was hard to convince ourselves, after a late, tequila-y night. However, once we were running along the beach, all thoughts of a hangover had disappeared and we just enjoyed being out in the sunshine and fresh air. It's such a beautiful part of the world, I'm so glad we get to come here so often.

After our run, we stopped off at Coast for a coffee/juice, then headed home to meet the others and go for an adventure. We decided to go to Maitland Bay, a beach we hadn't gone to before, and the walk there was amazing, through lots of bushland and scrub, with amazing views! It was really incredible. As we scrambled down loads of steps, I tried not to think about the way back up!

When we reached the beach, I was blown away! It was a beautiful, sandy beach, with gorgeous warm blue seas – and nobody else there! I don't know if it was the long walk that puts people off, or whether we just got lucky, but we had the whole beach to ourselves. Cue a few hours of reading, cricket, sunbathing, swimming and playing in he waves. It was like paradise!

When we finally had to decided to drag ourselves away, we had to do the giant climb back up the cliff... My legs won't thank me tomorrow! We were all pretty tired after such a long, lovely day, so we had a quiet night up on the coast, watching TV, reading and having an early night. Perfect weekend!
